Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the highly entertaining and successful quiz night on Friday 7th November.
It was good to see so many club members there, many bringing friends and family along for a fun evening. Thanks for your support and the raffle prizes you brought along, too – especially Richard B. for the superb donation of a printer – that certainly raised eyebrows as well as ticket sales!
Special mentions must go to the Quiz Master General, Terry Penny and his assistant/wife, Carol; to chief cook Pat Usher (masses of chilli – so much that the rest of the family will be feasting on leftovers for the next month) and helpers Heidi Young and Lucy Price (baking potatoes!) and Carol Penny (vegetable chilli and biscuits); to washer-upper and chief spud splicer, Richard Penny; Laura Penny, our bartender and chief organiser; and other general dogsbodies/helpers Jane Smith and daughter, and Alex Penny; Jonathan Fox i/c money and anyone else who in their own way made the evening so worthwhile, not only as a fund-raising event, but also as a superb social night out.
Altogether, we made a staggering £1035 profit, some of which will go towards the club staging a race event in the coming year or two. But there will also be an opportunity for club members to suggest other things we might spend the money on, so get thinking. This will be up for discussion at our AGM in January.
Well done everyone and thanks again.
