Hooky 6 race review

On Sunday 9th August while a number of club members headed off to the Bearbrook 10km Heidi and Linda took part in the 30th anniversary Hooky 6. It’s a 6 mile two lap race that starts and ends in Hook Norton. For anyone who did the Blisworth 5, it was quite similar in that there was a cute village involved and the same degree of undulation (aka hills!).

We both found it too hot and hilly and not a pleasant experience for either of us. Heidi still had her Parkrun PB in her legs from Saturday and Linda had a strained quad muscle in her leg from pretty much the moment we set off! Focussing on the positives though – we didn’t get lost like in our last race (Run the Claydons), it was well marshalled and the goody bag was better:

* Claydons goody bag – medal, water and a Mars bar (race entry £18)

* Hooky 6 goody bag – decent t shirt, commemorative anniversary water bottle, crisps, drink, reflective arm bands (race entry £9 for affiliated members)
