Quadzilla success for Alex and Laura

On Thursday 5th February with snow in the air Alex put on his trainers to take part in the Enigma Quadzilla event at Caldecotte Lake in Milton Keynes – Four full marathons over four days. Completing all four races brings Alex’s total to 59 marathons to date.

Day one saw Alex complete the race in 3 hours 55 minutes.

A cold and frosty day two saw Alex struggle a bit but still complete his second race in a respectable time of 4 hours 6 minutes.

On day three Laura tied her running shoe laces to join Alex and complete her 16th marathon.  It was a cold dull day.  Laura achieved a pb doing 4 hours 9 minutes and Alex quicker than the previous 2 days in 3 hours 50 minutes.

The sun was shining on Day four and both Alex and Laura were on the start line together again.  The running club had come out in force to run with and support the guys.  Laura slowed due to the pb the previous day but finished in 4 hours and 43 minutes and Alex got his best time of the event doing 3 hours and 47 minutes.

Alex averaged 3 hours and 55 minutes over the 4 days and amazingly did the whole event 2 hours and 28 minutes quicker than last year! Massive well done Alex!!

Jane was also there on day four supporting them both & adding a few miles to her London marathon training schedule.

Alex and Laura would like to thank the 7 members of the club who turned out to support them on Sunday.  It was very much needed!!

Saturday also saw Hayley take part in her first ever race the Eaton Dorney Run 10k which she finished in 1 hour 12 minutes, 3 minutes faster than her target time.  She raised £300 for the Moholoholo Animal Orphanage in South Africa where she will be doing some volunteer work in May.

Please email the club with details of any races or events you have coming up as we would like to report more on members achievements.
