Rock Solid Race – Sept 19th 2015

Hi Chris Usher

I hope this message finds you well?

I’m just writing to let you know that RockSolid Race will be returning to Silverstone Woodlands on Saturday 19th September 2015!

With a successful 2 day event in Escot just behind us, we’re starting to make plans for our next big event and we’d love for you and your members and runners at Buckingham and Stowe Running Club to be a part of it! Our Escot race saw over 5,000 runners taking on the mud with our runners pledging just under £200,000 for charitable causes. As well as that warm fuzzy feeling you’ll get from facilitating all this fundraising and the general hilarity from watching our Rockers splatter their way round our muddy course, we also have a pretty sweet benefits package for our volunteers as well. As a thank you for participating, all our volunteers will receive the following:

–          Free exclusive RockSolid Crew t-shirt (great for training / gym sessions)

–          RockSolid Crew bag

–          Free bulky lunch

–          Hot drinks on arrival

–          Soup at the end of the day

–          Access to the onsite after party

–          Free parking and overnight camping (if required)

–          Discounted entry to a future race (£10 for 5K, £15 for 10K and £20 for 15K or discounts for our RockStars kids and teens race)

We need a huge team of 120 enthusiastic volunteers to make the event happen and help us to ensure that things run smoothly and safely on the day. It’s hard work, but good fun, so please invite your members and runners to get involved! Online registration for the Volunteer Crew is now open via our short registration form.

Check out what volunteering with RockSolid Race involves by taking a look at our volunteering webpages – it’s an event not to be missed! But don’t just take our word for it – read what previous Crew members have to say about their RockSolid experience on our volunteering blog.

I really hope you and your members and runners can join us in September and if you have any other questions about volunteering, feel free to email me at Please direct any runner-related queries to and my colleague Alun will be able to help you.

Best wishes,

Clare Baars
