Where were you born: Chelmsford, Essex

Children: Daniel aged 14 and Bethany aged 11

How long have you been a member of the club? I joined the club in March 2012

Why do you enjoy running? It keeps me fit and it’s a good social activity.

Your running highs and lows? My biggest high was being voted Members’ Member at the Club in 2015, and winning parkrun point’s trophy 2015. No low’s.

Piece of running kit you can’t live without? Always like to wear my purple club shirt for parkruns and races.

Biggest running achievement? My Marathon in under 4 hours last year

What do you hope to achieve this year? PB’s in every distance, from 1mile to marathon and gold standard.

Do you listen to music whilst running? No I prefer to listen to the sound of nature.

What is your post run treat? Yorkie bar and a bowl of peanuts.

Any other hobbies or interests? Lifelong fan of Watford FC. Love a good political argument/discussion, spending time with my family.

Interesting fact about yourself? I used to be a child model for Woolworth’s!!

Name: Emma Swannell

Age: 29

Occupation: Teacher

Where you were born? Milton Keynes

Do you have any children? 2 girls

How long have you been a member of the club? 6 months

Why do you enjoy running? It gives me time to relax and gives me a break a from being a mum or teacher. I like feeling like I have achieved something and I’m constantly setting myself bigger goals. I enjoy the challenge of distances rather than speed.

What have been your running highs and lows?

Lows- I hated it to begin with. I used the Coach to 5k app and just 30 seconds made my chest feel tight. The only thing which kept me going was weight loss.

Highs- Running my first ever 5k without stopping, running my first ever 10k, various races throughout the year. Every time I do a 10K race I achieve a new personal best.

Name a piece of running kit you can’t live without? My phone.

What is your biggest running achievement? Running 11 miles.

What do you hope to achieve this year? My first half marathon on 13th December.

Do you listen to music when you run, if so what do you like? Anything and everything. Arctic Monkeys, Aerosmith, James Bay, Kings of Leon, Eric Clapton, Rudimental, Ellie Golding, The Rolling Stones…

What is your post run treat? Ferrero Roche

Any other hobbies or interests? I love to read, watch films, shop, eat out…the norm.

Do you have an interesting fact about yourself? When I eat too much I can’t stop sneezing. Ha!
