Name: Hayley Bennett

Age: 33

Occupation: Senior prison officer

Where were you born: Aylesbury

Children: None

How long have you been a member of the club? I joined the club December 2014

Why do you enjoy running? I enjoy doing something where I can see a real improvement and I enjoy collecting bling from races

Your running highs and lows? My biggest high so far is completing my first 10k but I get a high each time I finish a race. My biggest low so far is getting an injury just before a race I had been looking forward to for a long time.

Piece of running kit you can’t live without? My Garmin watch. I like to know my pace and distance so I can log it afterwards. I have been know to turn around and go home half way down the road because I’ve forgotten my watch and start again once I’ve got it.

Biggest running achievement? Running my first ever 10k on a very flat course then running my next on a hilly course and knocking 3mins off my PB

What do you hope to achieve this year? Before the end of the year I hope to have run a half marathon, and within a year hopefully my first marathon because after always saying I would NEVER run a marathon I have entered the Paris Marathon in April.

Do you listen to music when you run, if so what do you like? I mainly listen to country music and have recently started listening to audiobooks on my long runs

What is your post run treat? Chocolate

Any other hobbies or interests? Horse riding but I am finding that running is taking over my life!

Interesting fact about yourself? I spend my holidays being a cowgirl in Montana USA
