Decorating the Scout Hut

As part of our community programme, several club members volunteered to spruce up Maids Moreton Scout Hut on Wednesday and Thursday 30th & 31st March.

Committee member, James Stubbings, together with vice-chairman, Steve Thomson, organised the decorating and around a dozen folk turned up on Wednesday with another 5 or 6 more the next evening. There was a great team atmosphere, and, odd as it may sound, I actually enjoyed it!

We received the email below from scout master Vincent shortly after …

Hi James,

I’ve now been over to the hut and am really pleased with the job that the running club has done, especially in the back room which looks really great now. Pass on my sincere thanks to everyone who helped and let me know what you want me to post on FB to support you.

I think the hut needs this sort of thing doing every year – the parents did it last year, your club this year so I think now the ball is rolling, I need to make sure it gets organised because it makes a big difference to the place.

Thanks again and best regards,

Vincent

Well done and many thanks to all our volunteers who have helped raise the club’s profile in the wider Buckingham community.
