Over 30 club members participated in our first club championship race of the year at the local Winslow 10k – our biggest ever turn out for an event – sure signs that the club continues to grow. Chris Usher and Justin Wetters were also there in support and took the photos below – taken at the foot of the final hill back up into Winslow, which possibly accounts for the expressions on the faces. Those who hadn’t raced this before thought it was nearly over and are therefore smiling, whilst the experienced folk knew what was coming and grimaced at the thought! It was a dry but chilly, windy day as the 280+ runners set out and remained that way throughout. A well-marshalled and lovely route through the Buckinghamshire countryside, this is likely to remain on our racing calendar for some time to come. Our thanks to Winslow Lions Club for organising the event.
